HELP OUR STUDENTS TRAVEL
The HOST Program, coordinated by MCAS, the University of Michigan Medical Center Alumni Society, connects M4 students with alumni volunteers during the M4 residency interview process, and later connects recently graduated students with members of their new medical residency community.
As an alumni volunteer during the interview process, you will provide your students with a free place to stay, as well as advice based on personal experience about residency training and the medical center and community in which they are interviewing. In addition to what you will offer as a volunteer alumni host, this program promises you much in return. You will learn firsthand about the U-M Medical School today, the new curriculum, and changes on campus. Also, you will have the opportunity to renew your personal sense of pride as it is reflected in these outstanding students who have met the challenges of a highly demanding medical program.
As an alumni volunteer during the residency placement process, you will be instrumental in welcoming new U-M residents who will be relocating to your community.
We would like to invite you to participate in the HOST program, either as an alumnus/a or as a medical student. Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions page for answers to any concerns you may have.
