Looking Ahead

What can a patient visiting the Depression Center expect to happen on the first visit?

We start with a thorough evaluation by an expert team, working together, so that all important areas can be covered. Teams help deliver treatment, working synergistically. Sleep assessments and special neuropsychological tests are conducted to pinpoint interventions. Special laboratory tests will be added as they are developed, such as genetic measures to tell us which medications will be most effective for each individual. Using the new M-DOCC instrument developed by the center, we clearly document the severity of symptoms at the beginning of treatment so that the person being treated can work with us to confidentially monitor their treatment progress, often from the privacy of their own home.
