Elena Fuentes-Afflick (1986), chief of pediatrics at the University of California-San Francisco, has been appointed vice dean for the UCSF School of Medicine at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Previously, Fuentes-Afflick was vice dean for academic affairs.

Patrick Guffey (M.D. 2005), chief medical information officer at Children's Hospital Colorado and professor of pediatric anesthesiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, has been appointed as chairman of the board of Contexture, an umbrella organization for the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization and the Arizona health information organization Health Current.

Cliff Megerian (M.D. 1988), professor of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine, became the inaugural Jane and Henry Meyer Chief Executive Officer Distinguished Chair at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Megerian was initially appointed CEO in 2021.

Michael Schermer (M.D. 1969, Residency 1970), an ophthalmologist in Sacramento, California, recently realized his dream of hiking to Everest Base Camp.

Marshall Strome (M.D. 1964, Residency 1970), CEO and founder of Aero- Di-Namics, and professor and chairman emeritus of the Cleveland Clinic Head and Neck Institute, celebrated his granddaughter Arianna Strome's graduation from the Medical School this spring.
